SA: Govt cuts gas use as temperatures in Adelaide soar

ADELAIDE, Feb 6 AAP - South Australian government departments will turn off computers
and lighting as soaring temperatures prompt fears of an energy crisis.

SA Premier Mike Rann today said he had written to the heads of state government departments
asking them to immediately cut energy use to help deal with the Moomba gas shortage during
the coming week of predicted extreme heat.

The request came as the state's Country Fire Service (CFS) today warned against bushfire
complacency.
