Qld: Man cleared of wife cricket bat murder
BRISBANE, Aug 1 AAP - A man was today cleared by a Brisbane Supreme court jury of bashinghis wife to death with a cricket bat.
Stephen John Carter, 29, had pleaded not guilty to the murder of his wife Angela onJuly 23, 1999 in their unit at St Lucia in Brisbane's inner west.
Carter, a rocket science student, was charged with the murder two years later.
But a jury found him not guilty today after seven hours of deliberations.
