Maruzen Acquires EO-EG Venture.(Brief Article)

Maruzen petrochemical has reached an agreement to acquire Nisso Petrochemical Industries, a producer of ethylene oxide and ethylene glycol (EO-EG) from Nippon Soda and Teijin, for [yen]5.5 billion ($52 million). Nisso Petrochemical, owned 67% by Nippon Soda and 33% by Teijin Nisso, has capacity for 82,000-m.t./year EO and 100,000- m.t./year EG at Yokkaichi.
