Canadian Musician: When did you first start singing? Tell us your history...
James LaBrie: I started singing when I was five years old, which was mainly due to my home environment. My father was always singing in barber shop quartets, so he was playing albums from Tony Bennett and Nat King Cole. When I started elementary school, the school had a really good music program, and I also started getting involved in plays by Grade 3 and 4. I really started to immerse myself in that scene.
